MGM Grand is a great place to stay as a family. Very nice rooms, lots to do. Vegas is fun. 5 days was enough tbough rhis time of year (Dec.) as no pools were open. It was fun looking at the hotels on the strip. Found meals a bit pricey in Vegas.

Having travelled for 17 hours first impressions were that, along with the whole of Vegas, this hotel is a gross abuse of the world's resources. On a practical level, this 3500 bed 24 hour hotel is a city in itself. All services are to hand. Check in was slow taking, over half an hour. Rooms are well furnished and large. On our first nights overnight stay a 3rd floor room was disappointing by the fact that it did not have a view. Never the less it was satisfactory for an overnight stay. On our return, four days later, our spacious 13th floor room room had views towards the strip. Food and service at the Grand Wok restaurant were good. Breakfast at the Grand Buffet was good value. With 99 deg F outside temperatures the elevated walkways connecting to other air conditioned strip attractions are handy. Overall, despite being initially overawed by the scale of everything we were quite satisfied with the hotel.
