The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful. We have a young baby and the hotel was very helpful in providing a travel cot and high chair. We were moved to a slightly bigger room when they realised that we needed a travel cot. The shower in this room was leaking and caused a slight flood in the bathroom - although the hotel was quick to clean it up they didn't manage to fix the problem and we had to use towels to stem the flow of water - on the plus side, the bath did fill very quickly. The hotel is in a great location and is only a few minutes walk from South Quay on the DLR. Canary Wharf is about 5 minutes walk. There is a lot of building work near the hotel at the moment but the disruption is minimal especially thanks to "considerate construction" - where all the buiding work takes place behind large partitions so as not to create an eye-sore. The fare from London City Airport to South Quay was £1.50 and took about 15 minutes. If you are tall, like me, watch out for the low flying light fittings in the rooms.

I booked the Britannia International Docklands Hotel as a special treat to my husband. It was his champagne birthday turning 28 on the 28th of June and I wanted everything to be perfect. I had planned a surprise weekend in London including the two nights at the Brittania, theatre and dinner reservations, and other day activities. I specifically chose this hotel because of its leisure facilities and what looked online to include a spacious double room. Not only were we unable to use the leisure facilities the room was small. I expected that because of the price, hotel rating, and facilities provided, that it would be exceptional, it was not. Although, I mentioned my intensions with the hotel staff, nothing was offered in replacement or as a gift to apologise for not being able to use the spa facilities. We also experienced rude awakenings with the cleaning staff knowcking on our door early in the morning with no intension to clean at that time. And, when we asked for a taxi to be booked for us, it arrived late; which in turn, made us late for our dinner and theatre reservations. The amount I paid for two nights provided me with nothing more than I have received in the past from small family bed and breakfast motels. We do not plan to ever visit this hotel again or provide positive recommendations to others. I must say, I have never paid so much money and received such terrible service!

The worst breakfast I have ever had in a hotel anywhere in the world. Utterly disgraceful. Everything else was OK with the exception of the swimming pool which is hugely misrepresented in the advertising. It is no bigger than a large bath. I wouldn't stay here again nor would I recommend anyone else to.

The hotel fine facilities good, except swimming pool empty and not available for use on the Monday. Room service good, restaurant food good, the location a little isolated no bars and restaurants although there were 2 pubs a short walk away.
