Excellent location in London, 5 mins in a taxi from Kings Cross station. Walkable to Covent Garden. Russell Square (small park) opposite which was very relaxing. Shops (newsagents, starbucks etc) couple of doors down. Two streets away from British Museum. Bloomsbury is a lovely area. Beautiful exterior to building and reception, bar etc. Very clean. Room small but we only stayed one night so ok. Only slight moan was that curtain track was hanging off the wall, the tie backs were ripped and the batteries in the tv remote control didn't work so I couldn't get radio. Hairdryer was typical of a hotel and a bit rubbish (for girls who need a blow dry!). Big bath and shower. Would def stay again, esp if I could find a deal on it (we paid £149). Breakfast was fine, large choice, buffet style. Continental was included in our price but we got the english breakfast as it was self serve. All staff friendly and efficient. Room was even ready at 12.30pm!

Utterly disgraceful room rate of £247 per night for a single room that if you stand in the middle of you can touch both walls. Generally very poor, unhelpful and slow service at both the reception and restaurant. I am a very frequent traveller (5-6 days per week) - this ranks as one of the worst value for money hotel I have ever stayed in. Never again.

Good service, breakfast and clean room. Central, quiet and practical location. Beautiful old building, but with satisfactory comfort.
