Thainstone House Hotel and SPA , Aberdeen

A bit tired looking and in need of a spruce up but otherwise quite hospitable, warm and comfortable. My wife and I enjoyed our Christmas weekend.

We arrived at the hotel and because it was new years eve nothing else was open the spa was closed for the children the restruaunt was closed the hotel was geared up only for party mode we were just wanting a break!

The room were very tired and in need of updating. The paper was peeling off the wall in my room. The service was very good and the receptionist ensured our needs were met.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in a double and a single room in May 2010. The rooms were small and comfortable, without being luxurious. Facilities were adequate and the staff helpful at all times. The dining room where we had our breakfasts, was superb, with great views over the hotel grounds. The breakfasts were good and overall, we would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again when in Scotland.

Hotel was set in lovely well kept grounds. Parts of the hotel were in need of modernisation. I had to supply my own skimmed milk at breakfast. Bar meals were limited and you could not just get a sandwich. We did not eat in the restaurant at night.Our room was clean but some bits were a bit tatty looking. Staff were helpful and for the most part very friendly. We would stay there again. My husband used the gym daily and was very happy with the equipment. Swimming pool and changing rooms were good also.

Lovely hotel, good facilities (fitness room, pool, snooker and public areas in which to relax) set in beautiful grounds.

Amazing to look at on arrival with beautiful grounds. We stayed in one of the four poster rooms and it was absoloutely fantastic!! Service was of a high standard and they carried out my special requests perfect. Would recommend and will most definately return!!
