| Renaissance is still one of the best hotels of the region. Overall, facilities are well maintained and in a good condition. Standard twin rooms (IMHO much better than double rooms) are equipped with two excellent queen size beds with very comfortable orthopedic matrasses. Dining in the main restaurant, as well as buffet lunch are of average quality for a Turkish hotel (limited choice of meats while good fish is basically missing). A la carte restaurants (in particular Italian and Chineese) offer better dining experience and better service. The latter 9service) is a major sourse of disappointment: with switching to all incluse mode the staff lost incentives for better service. The management does not seem to see thios as major concern. As a result, the service is rapidly deteriorating, and a smile becomes an exception while it used to be a rule. Another annoying factor is major meetings hosted by the hotel, in particular meetings of Russian companies. I am Russian myself but have to admit that I would prefer to see around more Europeans and not Russians drinking champagne with the dry fish (vobla) which they bring with them |
