Location Overview

Claridge Zurich Hotel (formerly Hotel Claridge Tiefenau) still has the comfortable serenity of an affluent and well-run private house. Claridge Tiefenau is situated right in the city center, yet in a very quiet residential street, just off the theatre, the museum of fine arts and the conservatory as well as the major hospitals, midst in a flowery garden (sun terrace!) and disposes of an own parking lot. Walking to the next tram stop Heimplatz takes about 1 minute, to the lake (Zurich Opera) and the "Limmatquai" about 5 minutes and to the world famous Bahnhofstrasse around 7-8 minutes. Zurich Airport is 11 miles away. Shuttle bus is available at the airport at a rate of CHF 25.- per person and runs 25 times daily in both directions.

The 35 spacious rooms and suites at Claridge Zurich Hotel are furnished in the very personal style of the French King Louis XV with oriental rugs and antiques, a cozy lounge corner with writing desk. All rooms are equipped with full bathroom, hairdryer, cosmetic-bar and an in-room safe, mini bar, sound proofed double doors with security key & locks as well fire protection system. There is a business center with modem hook-up, direct-dial phone, fax, voicemail, colour TV and Pay TV with video, direct Internet access in all rooms.

Restaurants & Bars

You are fascinated by trendy but well-groomed table culture. Then discover Orson’s! The new restaurant designed by Pia Schmid in the Claridge Tiefenau is looking forward to welcoming you very soon. The Züri-Stube-part of the Orson's, features very well known dishes based on Grand 'Ma's recipes; perch from the lake of Zurich, blue trout from mountain creek, Zurcher Geschnetzeltes with Roesti (hash brown potatoes) etc., combined with many delicious wine specialties at very reasonable prices. During warm days, the restaurant extends to the shadowy Claridge Tiefenau-Garden. Relax at hotel’s new Bar, designed by famous lady architect Pia Schmid. Enjoy a drink, a glass of wine (more than 20 different kinds by the glass) and have a chat with your neighbour. Hotel offers (from Tuesday through Saturday) a happy hour from 4 to 6 pm with free snacks to your drink at reduced Happy Hour-Prices.

• The hotel is outside the city center. About 20 minutes walk to railway station. 10-15 min to the technical university/hospital. • Rooms ok. But problems with air condition in my room. • Breakfast ok. • Low scoring because we were charged for 4 beers in the bar, despite only ordering/drinking 2. After correction, we paid. However, at checkout they tried to charge us for the same beers once again. Additionally, we had to pay a local "city tax". First they said it was 5 SFr/night but after our protests they charged us 2.50. • A little bit like Fault tower ... • I will choose another hotel at my next Zurich stay.

Great location - close to tram and center. Best buffet breakfast that I have seen. Staff helpful and friendly. Free phone calls from the hotel to the US to landlines. Internet was a little tricky to get on.

this hotel is very central for all attractions 4 tram-bahn lines nearby - 4 min. walk the hotel is in a quiet small street located and family run we would come back

Rooms very pleasant and quiet- comfortable beds and good quality linen - bonus to have a seating area, workspace and walk-in cupboard storage area. Warm service in restaurant at dinner, and very diverse breakfast - in additional to usual continental breakfast, lots of healthy options - mueslis, fruits, nuts, herbals teas... Signage was a bit difficult to follow - signs in many different directions, designed for one-way flow of cars, but very confusing as a pedestrian.
