Hotel Monopol, Lucerne

Excellent hotel in centre of Lucerne with comfortable rooms.It could do with aircon but the supplied fan was quiet and effective.Helpful staff, good breakfast. Would go there again.

superb location, nice room organization, good breakfast. The only disappointment was the bathroom that provides only one type of vanity: all-in-one body, hand, hair shampoo, which doesn't suit a four star hotel. Otherwise, everything was really pleasant and good. I'd definitely stay there again next time with my own shampoo and soap.

Close proximity to train station and 'old' Lucerne center. Great included breakfast. No included internet access in room, but free access available at 'Starbucks'

Stayed here on the way back from the mountains. Expected a typical city hotel. Pleasantly surprised. Big room included sofa and armchairs. High enough up to enjoy mountain scenery from hotel windows. many rooms must have lake view. Ideal location. Next to railway station and 2 mins from old town and lake. Brilliant price. Even bacon and eggs as part of breakfast choice.

We were delighted with this hotel. We we given a huge room with a view of the lake. Ultra friendly staff. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Ideal location for touring the local sights on foot.

The room was fine, nothing spectacular. But I didn't expect anything spectacular. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. If you walked away hungry, it was your own fault. I was disappointed that they said they didn't have parking available. They said they only had 4 spaces and they were all taken. They did provide us with a street parking pass for a small fee. So, we found street parking. The reason I make this comment, though, is that none of the 4 spaces they said were taken had a car in them the whole time we were there. They did allow us to drive in to the parking area to unload and load the car since we were traveling with a handicapped person, though.

The hotel was decent. It could use a remodeling, as it was a bit old. It had everything you'd need though. As a bonus we got a terrific room with a nice view of the lake. Certainly can't beat the price. (Thank Yeego!)
