Hotel Abba Acteon, Valencia

Hotel location was not ideal, located in a more residential area neither near beach or old town. The hotel itself had the feel & appearance of a 4 star hotel. Rooms & bathrooms of good standard. No real views as such -back of hotel looks out on a small playground/park. The buffet breakfast was fantastic the restaurant staff especially helpful & friendly - even to a couple with only a few words of spanish. This could not be said for the reception staff who did not go out of their way to even crack a smile. The gym was not great but about all you could expect of a spanish hotel gym - if you have experience of same you will know what I mean. Free bottled water in the gym by the way! Access to gym via special room key which you have to ask for at reception. Sauna was good but no access to the solarium & even though a pool is advertised they dont not have one (maybe it is located in the solarium area). I have stayed in Valencia before and other areas of the city can have a lot of traffic noise but this hotel is not affected by this. There are no decent shops or restaurants in the vicinity either - there is a Lidl a few hundred yards on the road to the beach. Overall its a fine hotel & the location is fine if you want to be in between the old town & the beach.
