Everything good you might want to say about a hotel applies to Alicia: location, style, comfort, staff, value. Modern high style at a modest price, made possible in part by the small size of the rooms. Small size is okay for short stay, might be burdensome for long stay or much time spent in room. Our room faced the main street but was quiet. A shade comes down to totally shut out light--so much so that we overslept, not knowing it was bright day outside. Instructions on operating the blinds and shade would have helped. Breakfast is quite adequate--at a 3 star level. Some reviewers have complained about the glass shower stall being out in the main room. It's unusual, but there are wide black stripes that give some privacy; the arrangement saves space and should not be a problem for couples who have no qualms about appearing naked before each other. Another plus: free wifi that actually works.

For us, the location could not be better! We love the Plaza de Santa Anna with all the chairs out late into the night and so many bars within a short stroll.
We have been to Madrid many times and stayed in this hotel at the same time last year,we like it! However, the rooms would not be to everyone's taste, as there is little privacy having the shower in the same room and the toilet door only just adequate. Having said that, the rooms are nice with good double glazing to keep out most of the noise.
We prefer it on the outside and are prepared to put up with the noise which is a "feature" in most Madrid hotels. Our request for an outside room with a double bed was provided.
Being on the corner, most of the rooms are outward facing with I think 3 on each floor opening on to an inner atrium.
The staff in reception have good English and are particularly welcoming and helpful.
Breakfast was good for a Hotel of this rating and is taken in the adjoining Cafe.
I am sure we will return!

Hotel was in an excellent location situated in the heart of Madrid. Plenty of bars/restaurants and some of the most beautiful sights within walking distance we had a fab weekend and found that we would without doubt be using room mate hotels again. The room was not the largest room we have stayed in but it was modern and clean and considering the location very quiet. The shower could do with a light in it but it would not stop me using room mate again.

The room was clean and modern. Was facing on to the square so was a bit noisy on the Saturday night.
Breakfast was fine but wait staff we not the best
