The Ambassador is a lovely hotel. The location is excellent as it is literally situated just off Las Ramblas and handy for the port area and the square for accessing transport etc. The rooms were certainly nice and clean. However, they are very poorly lit which proved very difficult for getting your make-up on! It is also worth pointing out there are no tea and coffee making facilities - something we have taken for granted as having been part of the facilities in other hotels. We had problems with noise from a room on our floor on our first night which we reported and the hotel staff acted immediately. However, some noise went on for a little while longer. When we mentioned it at reception the following day they assured us they would act on it and we had no more noise from then on. Otherwise the hotel was quiet - more suited to weekend breakers like ourselves and it wouldn't put me off going back.

Rooms where a good size although the decor and the woodwork where dated and dark, built in 1992 and is still there unfortunately, however the beds where really cumfy. In fact all the hotel was quit dismal, maybe because its in city and cannot get a lot of natural light.The breakfast was disapointing for a 4* but adequate. The location was extreamely good 2 mins off the La Ramblas and the plus point is that it has a small roof top pool and terrace good if you want a day to relax.
