The hotel consist of 59 spacious guestrooms, with each floor of the hotel having its own color scheme, with brightly decorated rooms that are decorated with wooden floors. All the rooms are equipped with modern amenities to ensure maximum comfort. Room amenities include individually controlled air-conditioning and heating, high speed internet access, television with cable/satellite, in room safe, spacious work desk, mini bar, direct dial telephone with voice mail and an en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, hairdryer and complementary toiletries

Restaurants & Bars

The hotels first floor restaurant forms a V-shape around the glass walls of the central atrium. A window stretching the length of one of the sides looks out over the street. Wooden floorboards, cream walls and white tablecloths complete the light and airy ambience. It seats 40 and serves buffet breakfast every morning. The lobby bar features design worthy of a fashionable cocktail bar, with bright red moon stools at the bar, and low armchairs upholstered in grey with curved wooden arms. Midnight it serves coffees, beers, wines, and cocktails. Food can also be ordered from the room service menu

Facilities & Services

When the weather is good there can be few places in Barcelona better to relax and enjoy the sun than the hotels roof terrace. It has a raised deck with a swimming pool and spa pool. There are also tables, chairs and sun-loungers. The basement fitness centre is decorated with colourful Keith Haring prints and has cardiovascular and resistance machines and some free weights, there is also a sauna. The friendly staff of the Hotel America are at your service 24-hours a day, making sure guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay. The hotel has convenient facilities, which include room service (limited hours), safety deposit box at reception, currency exchange, parking, and laundry and dry cleaning facilities

I travel to Europe from the US 6-7 times a year so I am a very experienced traveler. Hotel America is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are very modern, relatively spacious for European hotel rooms and comfortable. Mini bar included and a nice TV. We were on the 6th floor which helped keep street noise down but the windows are new and insulated. The breakfast is fantastic; we ate a healthy breakfast every morning and skipped lunch. The location is at the far north end of La Rambla so its a bit quieter and easy access to the metro. There are fewer restaurants up at that end but some good ones. There is free internet in the lobby which we used every day. The service is also fantastic. The pool on the roof was great although we did not have time or weather to use it. Our luggage was lost so we were provided with toiletries etc, which helped greatly. I would stay there any time I am in Barcelona.
