| greeted at reception by bar/food staff member with half nail-varnished dirty nails. Bed room was grotty and up 79 steps with no lift. Room badly nicotine stained (walls and ceiling)and even worse curtains were overall nicotine stained and sirt stains. there was a filthy mat at the end of the bed. When I asked that it be removed I was told they had no replacement mat (and this is part of a chain of hotels/pubs!). Breakfast was not as on the menu - no grapefruit / fruit /yogurt and poor selection of cereal. Fry on day one breakfast was OK but you should have seen what my husband was served on day 2 - i never knew it was possible to burn a fried egg and make it inedible and they must have run out of bacon as he was served half a piece (two the previous day). On a positive note the bed (clothes) were clean but badly made each day with the platform valance hanging any which way! |
