Capitol hotel is a fair 3 stars hotel located in the heart of the city, very close to University Square, shopping areas, museums, cafes and other city highlights. The distance to International Otopeni Airport is 17 km. The building was raised up in 1901, and in the past time is sheltered a hotel and famous cafe, the favorite meeting place for many writers, musicians and artists. The hotel was NOT aware of my reservation. And it turned out that they were full too... Luckily I had a very nice lady at the reception and she really went out of her way to solve my problem. They arranged a room in another hotel in the vicinity.

Room satisfactory; but old worn furniture. Remodeling going on with construction items in the hallway. A good location two blocks from subway and near many places to eat; some attractions. Did not use hotel restaurant. Front desk people lacked personality and were not "service oriented" (do not know how to greet customers and almost gave you the impression you were bothering them or bored) but young men working in lobby were helpful and friendly.

Hotel was comfortable but with old decoration and no noise insulation between rooms. Management didn't control a group of Spanish kids who were running wild around the corridors and shouting at 11pm to mid-night.
