Belver Beta Hotel is an excellent value for money if you don't mind not being in the city centre. The hotel is excellently linked with Porto city Centre (Av.Aliados) thanks to the frequent bus # 600, although if you walk 10-15 min. from the hotel you also has a bus taking you to the beach. In the hotel vicinity you have a supermarket and grilled meat restaurant (churrasqueria) which is cheap and delicious. Buffet breakfast is abundant (bacon, scrambled eggs, bread, croissants, etc.) only the coffee was not nice but this is not a problem in a country excelling for the quality and aroma of its coffee (costing 0.55 cents or 0.60 cents for the basic shot in practicly all cafeterias, including the one just opposite the hotel). Rooms are not very well isolated so you can listen every single detail happening in next room. Reception staff is both nice and helpful, they have a computer with free Internet access for guests, apart from a basic spa with swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. All in all I would come back to this hotel if I had to come back to Porto.
