good hotel in excellent location.Near beach,train station and bus stop.Been there three times.

Excellent position for rail, coach and taxis. Good sized rooms,clean and bed linen changed regularly. Wide choice for breakfast and pleasant staff.

Ideal situated for beach, taxis, buses and trains.

Excellent, Clean & Friendly, Great Breakfast. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for those looking for a quiet & relaxing break.

location is good , and sea view is great

This is a lovely bright modern hotel. We had a seaview room which was a good size. Beds were very comfy, and everything very clean. Only slight negative - walls must be quite thin, as we could hear people in the next rooms. Food wise, we only had breakfast in the hotel, which was very good - lots of it, and an excellent variety/selection. Area wise, in a good position just opposite the station, and easy walking distance to Cascais. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

This is our 2nd stay @ the Vile Gale & on both occasions we have enjoyed it. The double room is large. Towels are changed daily, the hotel is quiet, no children, and no children's activities. Great! On both occasions we have had 6/7th floor bookings with wonderful coast-line views. Breakfast to suit everyone's tastes. Including champagne! Clean bedding & clean hotel and staff are friendly. Reserved to begin with but warm up once they get to know your face. It is just over the road from the beach, the train station, the buses & right around the corner from the casino (if you enjoy that type of entertainment). It is a beautiful 15 minute walk into CaisCais. You could not ask for a better location. The Tamariz Beach is clean & well maintained. Lots of restaurants for dinner at night if you do not wish to dine in the hotel. Our friend stayed in the single room and that too was a fair size and well maintained. From the moment we booked in everything went smoothly right up to booking out and the front desk ordering a limo for us.

The rooms er very large and the service is very good. We were very happy with our stay.

The hotel was very clean, staff where friendly but was really very dissapointed with our hotel room. The pictures of the hotel room had a balacony with a lovely seaview. So i booked a seaview room, ours had no balacony and the people in the swimming pool could see into our room so we therefore had to keep are curtains closed alot of the time. I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in a great location right by the Estoril csino and across the road from the Tamariz beach/bar and the train station. This means that it's a great area for some sun or a drink, but also so easy to get away in nearing towns or Lisbon. Be aware that because of the great location of the hotel, if you want total piece and quiet during the night do not pick a sea view room because this will face the busy main coastal road and the beach bar which comes alive with locals at the weekend. Having said that the view of the Atlantic if you decide to pay extra for it is very nice and relaxing to sit and overlook at any time of the day. We didn't spend much time in the hotel so cannot really comment on facilities, but the pool was pleasant enough and the buffet breakfast was very good. However head over the road to 'Garrett' if you fancy break from it and want to try out traditionl Portuguese pastries and coffee instead...great place.

Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Quiet and relaxing

Location is very central, across the road from the beach and the train station. The view from our room was even better then I imagined, very beautiful and well worth the extra money for a Sea View. Rooms were very clean and a good size. The members of staff that I dealt with were lovely & helpful. There was a wide range of breakfast selection which will suit everyone’s taste.

The rooms are very comfortables and cleans. This hotel is basically for adults and very poor if you travel with children.

Spacious rooms 'HOT' BREAKFAST WAS ALWAYS COLD Excellent location Health club was closed for the 4 days we were there. They kept saying it would open but it never did.

We stayed at the Vila Gale for about one week and had a wonderful time. We were in a slightly more expensive seaview room, but it was well worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Estoril is a beautiful location. The only sour note was an officious maitre'd at the restaurant who tried to prevent a compatriot ordering a particular dish, and then served her a different dish to the one ordered. This resulted in our friend not receiving a meal at all, as we ran out of time. We all felt outraged. Language problems were not the cause.

Twin rooms small with inadequate wardrobe space and nowhere to put golf clubs. Very clean however and not noisy. The hotel had a good bar,even if it was understaffed when all eight of us were init alongside other guests. Reception team fine. Breakfast was ok although bacon and sausages are clearly not the Portugese national dish.

The hotel was lovely, everything was so clean. The staff were very polite and helpful and we enjoyed our stay there in September 2005

Spacious rooms and first class service. Breakfast was excellent, did not taste any other meals in hotel. Good location, next to beach and access to bus and train servives.

Clean and well kept rooms. Of a good standard and large enough. Very good reception service. The Swimming pool water effected us and so was a disappointment. We enjoyed the bar and restaurant. There should be none smoking areas. Hotel location is very convenient for train, beach and central Esteril.

Nice hotel in overal, with very good value for the price. Search for good deals on this hotel on the web. Nice rooms – spacios, full of light and comfortable, with nice views (we had sea-view room and high floor). Well equiped – might by not up to 4 star hotels level like Marriott or Rennaisance, etc, but still you have all amenities you need. Not plush, but just fine and comfortable. Sea view is fine – you have full length wall-type window which can be opened to let the fresh air and sun stars in through the day/evening and it could be totally closed by massive curtains through the night to reduce the road noise – although noise still will be noticeable. We used restaurant only for the breakfasts, which were quite good. Suffiecient, with standard hot and cold meals and snacks provided, but not sumptuous. The menu for dinner looked good, but we preffred to have dinners outside of the hotel (there is a very nice small restaurant on parallel street, literally within 100 metres from hotel towards Estoril Casino – ask reception for exact direction and name). The few down points I have noticed are about lack of internet access in room, which was a real surprise; assumed at least wired is a must, not even speaking about wi-fi. Another bad point is about service at pool area – the pool could stay uncleaned for a day long, with no attention to cleaning it from any kind of garbage or things had been blown by wind into the pool (even like plastic chairs!). That’s highly contradicts with clean & tidy rooms and other areas. Staff is also very helpful and friedly. To summarize - would return and stay again at Vila Gale, if have to stay in Estoril.
