Plus points:a large room with a fine view of the sea,delicious breakfasts and dinners Minus points: bad, noisy air-conditioning, dark corridors and the safe was not without a charge, the hotel was a bit worn out

4/10 because the hotel was very nice, clean and the interior decoration of our room was very modern. Great location, right next to the coastwalk. However we experienced some unpleasantness. Some staff members were rude and there were long queues every morning entering the restaurant for breakfast, I'm so glad we didn't have all inclusive! The variety of food selection was poor and the waitors were slow in refilling the food and many food trays were empty. The restaurant seated many but the buffet disk was 3 meters short so it felt crowdy. There were enough waitors but they didn't organize their time very well since many tables weren't cleaned and the trays weren't refilled. Since we lived on the top floor we heard constant loud noices from the roof because of the strong winds in Cascais and we therefore had some sleepless nights. 3 days we had trouble with the towels, according to the reception the company that delivered them caused the delay of the distribution of towels. So returning from the beach we had to wait, once, until 20.30 before beaing able to shower. Last but not least, the pool and pool area were tiny.

We were very impressed with the standard of this hotel. The staff were very helpful without being in your face. The breakfast was very good, we even had buckfizz for breakfast! While we only had one evening meal there, it was very good, probably the nices we had during our stay.

Room was quite large but very dark (even with lights on)and wooden floor which was badly scratched. Breakfast ok but get to the fresh eggs and avoid 9:00 as there is a long queue. Luch service in the outside bar area was limited and service appalling - go to the nearby marina or the little cafe down the road.Staff generally not friendly. Need to provide a short cut through the garden to shorten walk to town.

Vila Gale is an excellent hotel all round-very clean, beautiful large bedroom&lovely large bathroom-we particulary liked the tiled floor in bedroom as opposed to carpet. Breakfast was excellent served in a very pleasent dining room. The location of the hotel was brilliant-right beside the marina and just nice walking distance to centre of Cascais.

WE were on 4th Floor with sea view room. This floor has been recently renovated and had only opened the previous week. The room was huge and very well decorated . The hotel is maintained to a high standard and the staff are very friendly. We were there on a B&B basis and the breakfasts were excellent quality with loads of choice. WE had dinner one night in the hotel and the main course was was the only thing that let them down. Starters and deserts /cheese board were excellent. The hotel is located 10min walk from Cascais and can be accessed from local bus outside train station.

The Hotel Vila Gale Village, in Cascais, Portugal is an excellent hotel, in all aspects. Rooms were air cond. mini bar etc all the comforts one would need, service reception and restaurant and bar were 4 star, staff friendly and very efficient. I lost my mobile phone in a taxi, the staff contacted the taxi company, phone was returned in 20 mins. The hotel is in a good location near to the Marina. I will use this Hotel again.

Hotel location is perfect in Cascais, located beside palace and park and historic lighthouse and bridge. 10 min walk to centre of Cascais. Very safe area. Great pool area. Very large room, and very clean, but basic. Not four star standard but three star.Lovely large balony with fabulous sea view. Very quiet at night with double glazing. Fridge too small to store food for drinks or snacks.Breakfast fabulous.

This was my fourth visit to the Vila Gale, where I have stayed for business and pleasure. The rooms are of ample size and include a kitchenette. The fridge is of little value as it was old and its floor was distorted and very small for those wishing to self-cater. The shower unit was also dated and loose. Apart from that, the hotel is very good,benefiting from friendly service, an OK restaurant buffet (although the choice for breakfast and dinner was not great) and a nice pool area. It is a good ten minutes walk from the village centre and that could become tiresome but overall, I like the hotel.

Stay at the Gale was great. clean rooms, great staff service and nice pool. i would hope to visit again.

This was my second stay in the hotel. The service as ever was great, staff helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The inclusion of a kitchenette, although I did not use it this trip, is very useful and well disguised from normal view by a blind. My wife and I decided to return to the hotel for our annual holidays this year for its comfort, quality-price ratio and location near the facilities of Cascais and the Costa Lisboa generally.

Our stay in Vila Gale Village Hotel was very enjoyable. The hotel was very clean with large rooms and the added bonus of a little kitchenette which we used quite often. The fridge doubled up as minibar which left little room for other items. We found this slightly irritating. We paid Euro35 for a safe which we found awkward to use as it was not electronic but key based with the lock having to be removed each time we wanted to use it. Our room was cleaned very well every day with clean towels and toiletries replaced. The staff were very professional and helpful. The dining room opened at 7.00 a.m. which meant that as we left the hotel for the airport at 6.45 a.m. we missed out on breakfast on our last day.We felt that this should have been noted when we checked out the previous night. In our last hotel Baia Grande Albufeira we were provided with a packed meal without our asking - now that's service!!!!! The food in the hotel was excellent with a very good selection of breakfast food - hot and cold. The dining room was run very smoothly. One morning my husband looked for his favourite rolls and was told by a waiter that they were all gone. However when the maitre d was informed a basket of rolls appeared immediately! The pool area was inviting with plenty of loungers and the area was kept very clean. The location of the hotel is good with a view of the sea on one side and a view of a park on the other - we were on the parkside which pleased us as it was very cool and pleasant to see the different wild life. One can spend more enjoyable time in the park than at the beach which was quite a considerable distance away and bathing was not encouraged. Cascais is a quaint pretty town with access to surrounding areas by bus and train. The organised tours from the area were quite expensive in comparison to other locations. Would we return? Perhaps. We found the holiday very enjoyable and good value for money. We will recommend Vile Gale Village hotel to our friends.

The room we hade was large, clean, very nicely furnished, good beds, maybe pillows a little hard. We enjoyed the room very much.

Apart from the hotel beginning to have a slightly dated feel, everything is as it should be. Very good breakfast, excellent value with great service throughout.

The breakfast was delicious, the hotel service was wonderful and the view of the ocean from the room's balcony was spectacular. The hotel was within walking distance to downtown and easily accessible by car. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
