Location Overview

The Hotel Continental has been a family enterprise for four generations. It is over 100 years old, and is situated superbly situated in the city center. The sights of the fascinating capital city are more accessible from here than from anywhere else. Situated nearby are the Royal Palace, the National Theatre and The Parliament. The distance to the Oslo Gardermoen Airport is approximately 50 km.

Rooms Information

No two rooms are identical, some furnished in a classic, traditional style, while others have a more contemporary look. Hotel Continental has a total of 154 hotel rooms, 23 of which are suites, 119 double and double deluxe rooms, and 12 single rooms. Every room has a broadband Internet connection. In addition, all rooms are equipped with mini-bar, colour TV, direct dial telephone, radio, air-conditioning and private en-suite bathroom

Dagligstuen is the lobby bar, the place to relax after your arrival at the hotel. You can enjoy one of the chef's many specialities or choose from a selection of sandwiches. The Steamen is a sidewalk café where guests can enjoy a delicious snack or a refreshing beverage. We were given a standard room which was nice, Molton Brown products, comfy bed, some noise from the bars on the street outside. Good location.As it was a 30th anniversary celebration, the staff tried to updrade us but the hotel was completely full. They kindly provided complimentary chocolates, wine and fruit and a very nice card.We did not eat in the hotel as it was so expensiive. Breakfast buffet was first class.

The room was small but ok. All was there what we needed. But even staying in the 5th floor, backside of the hotel, I thought, great, not the mainstreet in front. But at the opposide of the street was a pub called "chat noire". They played so aloud Music until 04:00 AM, without earplugs it was impossible to fall asleep. Imagine how it is at the first floor. The hotel really should use better isolation windows.

It was a hotel with excelent location.Front desk service very very good.Room had good decor but little noisy being on street side. Over all stay was quite good.

the Hotel Continental was good. Staff friendly and really helpful. They had good knowedge of places to visit as well as general information. I have to say though the hotel itself was showing signs of it age. It would do with updating. The bed was amazing. It wasn't a double but bigger than a kingsize. Shame they didn't provide large douvets though but instead a single douvet per person.
