Location Overview

Riga finally now has the hotel it has needed for years, one that is three-star, centrally located, in a building of architectural note, and yet is totally up to date. The Hanza Hotel, which opened in 2007, is all this and much more. It is situated in an area of Riga now full of novelty, vigour and above all of variety, although most of the buildings date from the early 20th century. Tourists will like to open their windows onto the view over the early 19th century Church of Jesus, the tallest wooden building in Latvia. Hotel is located approximately 15 km from Airport

Rooms Information

Hanza Hotel size allows us to welcome both individuals and groups, whilst maintaining the ambience of a family-run hotel. WIFI is of course standard throughout the building, some rooms have baths and some showers, and all bathrooms have under-floor heating. Thick wooden shutters, rather than mere curtains, ensure that bright light is excluded from the bedrooms during the summer. Hotel offers 80 comfortable rooms

Restaurants & Bars

In two restaurants, "Mercatore" and "Hanza Pub" hotel offers delicious food and drinks from all of Riga’s former partners along the coast. You will not only think of Riga here, but also of Lübeck, Gdansk and Tallinn. The interior of the first floor "Mercatore" restaurant with 40 seats is an ideal environment for a private party, or for a family celebration. The ground floor "Hanza Pub", which accommodates 45 people, is good for a business lunch or just for coffee at the bar during daytime. Its informal pub atmosphere in the evening will help you to relax and to enjoy your meal after a long working day or when you return from an exhausting city tour

Business Facilities

Conference room on the first floor offers all delegates, natural light, now quite a rarity in Riga. It seats 42 people and has a theatre layout. The seating can be adjusted to a variety of needs and in fact this room is just as suitable for entertaining as it is for a conference

Very convenient hotel for the price. We paid under 40 euron per night got very nice corner room in fourth floor. Breakfast was ok and location good for those who like to walk and see how something else than the old town and other tourists. Public transportation is very close includin airport bus.

Rooms were nice and clean. Service was good. Breakfast was nice. Hotel was quite near Old Riga, but around hotel there wasnt anything else (restaurants, bars, shops).

Rooms were nice and clean. Bathroom and shower great. Breakfast room was very crowded and sometimes you had to wait for a while for a table and/or the food. The hotel was located 10 minutes walk away from the old town and on the way is the central market.

Hanza hotel is situated near enough all the places of interest and you get what you pay for. The hotel is cozy and comfortable with its modern yet moderate decor. The breakfast was delicious and there was enough variety. Service is very friendly at the reception and the pub. Our (double) room was big enough and quiet. You get to choose whether to change your towels daily or not (for environmental issues, and we loved this choice), but our bed sheets were not changed during our 3 nights stay. The material of the mattresses made us sweat during the night, but the only actual discomfort we encountered was the shower: there was no detachable shower head and the water temperature kept changing from hot to cold.
