Location Overview

The Hotel Galeno is a charming two star hotel that is located in Rome, only a few steps from the historical Porta Pia, one of the last most important Michelangelo’s works of art, which was the stage of the famous Porta Pia Breach by the Italian army in September 1870. The surrounding quarter is very quiet and safe, far from urban noise but, at the same time, it offers a strategic starting point for your visit throughout the eternal city.

Good location and most staff very friendly with good English language skills. Breakfast was adequate but rooms were very small. As long as your expectations are not high, this is a good value for money hotel.

Our room was very small and the TV did not work. The bath was accumulating humidity. However, we had a great long WE as we were most of the time outside. And for that price, the hotel is perfectly ok (ca. 100EU for three nights for double room)

We stayed in a double room. It was a promotion so we payed 2 nights for 3. For this money it was a good option. The room was small but clean and with private shower/toilet. The windos were very small and overlooking the walls therefore it was always dark in the room unless yu switch on the light. They provide towels, soap and shampoo. The linen was clean. Towels and linen were changed every day. "Individually regulated air conditioning" was represented by a fan. There was a TV in the room. Breakfast included 1 cruassan, 1 jem, 1 bread, 1 piece of cheese, coffee/tea, milk, juice and cereals of 1 kind. Generally, we are satisfied. It is good value for money. There is public transport close to the hotel. If you don't mind walking it is also possible to get to the very center of Rome by foot in 30-50 minutes.
