Hotel Lido, Budapest

10 points for the personnel 10 points for the location 1,5 points for the facilities regarding the facilities, seems to be a hotel from former times... nothing renewed in the past 40 years

Hotel ok; quiet environment, but not close from downtown.Maybe a bit expensive comparatively speaking and also in terms of comfort which is maybe not up to the star level.

Mum and I stayed for 4 nights in May'06. Good location beside the river, beware of mosquitoes! Nearest HEV train stop about 20 mins walk away, then a Metro ride to the City centre.We used the free hotel shuttle bus- reliable and easy to book the night before. Last pick-up 6.30pm, too early if you wanted to stay out at night.Without this bus, it would be difficult and tiring to get into the city(5 miles away). Hotel room was large and clean. Staff were friendly and most spoke English. Breakfast was good -cooked and cold continental. Didn't use the restaurant for an evening meal because it was expensive and uninviting. Found better, cheaper restaurants and bars on the waterfront:lobby bar was never open.Felt safe walking in the area at night. Pool was clean, but needed a bit of a face-lift. The jacuzzi was not working and the advertised bowling club was closed. Overall good value for the price we paid, would definately stay again provided the shuttle bus was still operating.

The hotel is maybe overrated (four stars), in a quiet place but quite out of the city in a suburb. Fifteen minutes walk to train that gets you downtown in 15 minutes. Breakfast could be richer, and juice less watered down! Cheap anyway. Four hotel pickups a day, 10 a.m. (maybe a little late) and noon from hotel to city, two in the afternoon (last at 6 p.m.) from city to hotel.

The location was very pleasant and accessable by airport shuttle; in a nice neighborhood and close for strolling along the Danube. The room although a bit noisy was nice and clean, as was the pool.

Rooms were large and spacious. Reception staff all spoke English and were very helpful. Location was lovely, on the edge of the Danube. It was a little far out of town and transport was limited but there were restaurants locally to go to in the evening. There was also a very well-equiped gym and swimmimg pool in the hotel.

The room was very clear, my accommodation was very rapid, services are very good and the food was varied and appetizing. Thank you for your accomodation. Best regards, Nicolae Corbu

The rooms were good & the hotel was in a quiet area. The distance from the city was a bit of a problem but the hotel does a few city drop-offs & pick-ups each day. Breakfast was OK but they had the worst scrambled eggs I have ever made the mistake of trying.

The single room I had was of good standard. The service was good at the reception and shuttle bus, but not at the breakfast restaurant. The location is nice by the river, but the hotel was inconviently far from the centre of Budapest.

Room was very good, breakfast ok, the bar was never open, very quiet place, did not try the restaurant, jacuzzi did not vork, had to pay for the gym, swimming pool was to short for swimming. The Hotel needs refurbisment/upgrade.

Hotel was good and located in a very "Hungarian" area where the music + food was good and the river Danube adjacent. One point... the smell from the drains in the early evening was not nice but this did not last all night. (came through the bathroom drains even though we were on the third floor I think) Breakfast was OK and the staff pleasant

Hotel a little out of the capital but good public transport. Everything was nice in the hotel but the restaurant breakfast could have been better. Some of the staff in the breakfast room were not very friendly and when food ran out they would not replace it. Overall the rest of the staff in the hotel were lovely and for the price we paid we would have no hesitation recommending the hotel to others.

Rooms - spacious,clean, plenty of storage space but the term 'balcony' was misleading. Excellent buffet breakfast. Staff -extremely helpful and friendly. Taxi service - excellent , reliable and prompt. Location - interesting, near sports centre and the Danube. Could be noisy at weekends in summer I imagine. Accessible to public transport , need bus and metro to reach city centre. location would suit those who are active and mobile.

the location was great because of the river. wouldn,t have been great if it wasn,t for the shuttle bus and also the boat going to the city as the distance would have been too akward and expensive. the room was quiet and clean. the shuttle bus is important.

The hotel was very clean, the breakfasts were fine, the staff extremely polite and helpful. Nice to be near the river for a stroll. There waere also a couple of nice restaurants only a few minutes walk away. The only downside was the distance from the centre of Budapest, but there were buses and also the hotel shuttle twice a day.
