Location Overview

The Castro Hotel set amid lush gardens lies in the middle of the Amoudara only 300 m away from the famous sandy Amoudara Beach. Amoudara which is 5 km away from the centre of Heraklion was developed with tourism in mind and the beach is perfect for sunseekers and sports enthusiasts. There is a large selection of shops from mini-markets to Marks and Spencers and an excellent choice of bars and nightclubs for those who want to party till late.

The four storey Castro Hotel features 60 guestrooms opening onto balconies with sea views. The décor is elegant, white with stylish furnishings. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities including private bathroom with complimentary toiletaries, extra towels/bedding, cable/satellite TV, refrigerators and telephone. Air-conditioning is available on request.

Restaurants & Bars

A complimentary continental buffet breakfast is served each morning at the Maxim Restaurant which is open daily for breakfast and dinner. The ambience is relaxed and informal and the excellent fare is both Cretan and International. The poolside bar offers guests a wide range of refreshments and cocktails throughout the day and is the ideal spot to sit back and relax after sightseeing or strenuous watersports.

The Castro Hotel features an outdoor pool complete with a sun terrace and a poolside bar and nearby recreational activities on offer are windsurfing, water skiing, volleyball, mountain biking and scooter/ moped rentals. Great place, best food in town, great company and a pool that is most refreshing, clean and cool... fond memories of staying at this hotel, and would not only recommend it to others, but would definately stay again.
