| For the middle level price the rooms were as comfortable and functional as could be expected. The desk staff were readily able to understand English and were efficient in getting guests booked in. The food service is fine for an included package. The location between the Bangladeshi quarter and the red light district is a minor qualm that is offset by close proximity to the shops and restaurants around Omonia aquare and the underground metro. For our room the technician who was coming "tomorrow" to fix the ethernet connection to the web never quite made it in six days. Fortunately there is a free wireless link in the hotel foya where you can have a drink while checking email. In high summer our room air conditioning just did the job and some other guests on the highest levels requested room changes because of heat. Overall it is a good value package and we enjoyed our stay. |

| Room was spacious & v clean. Bed was very comfortable. Evening meal was disappointing for the vegetarian option, Breakfast better. Hotel is in a bit of a grotty area - but didn't feel unsafe, and seems that is where alot of the mid price hotels are. It is very easy to walk around the city. |

| The Athens Mirabello Hotel is on a seedy street in Athens but within good walking distance of the major Acropolis tourist area and other shopping areas. It is reasonably priced so it's a good value hotel if you don't mind the area. The hotel is more modern than the streets it is on, so it was a nice surprise. The rooms are compact but had a nice balcony (to watch the somewhat shady nightlife!) The shower is very small with no curtain or door and the air conditioner was not cool enough, but lucky that we were there in June before it got really hot. A very good point is that we were able to check in immediately when we arrived from our overseas flight around 8:00am. I would recommend staying at this value hotel if you want a basic clean room close to walking to the tourist area. |
