A period building with beautiful courtyard garden and water fountain, The Hotel Excelsior is situated 2 blocks immediately south of the central train station and less than 10 minutes walk to the boutiques, restaurants and bars of the pedestrian street, rue Massena. The beaches of the Promenades des Anglais as well as the markets, restaurants and night life of the Old Town are a further 5 minutes on foot. Parallel to, yet removed from the business of the shops of the main avenue of Nice, Jean Médecin, the area has the charm of belle epoque buildings and offers modest, good value restaurants. Nice Côte dAzur International Airport is only a short drive from the hotel (7 km). The airport shuttle bus to and from the main train station runs every 20 minutes up to 21.00H approx

The hotel Excelsior doesnt have its own restaurant but the staff will be happy to suggest you a wide selection of bar and restaurant nearby the hotel. The tranquility of the courtyard garden is welcome at the end of a busy day and cold drinks can be purchased. Buffet breakfast in the east facing breakfast room or on its large terrace is a lovely start to the day.purchased

Only thing this hotel has going for it is it's close location to the train station.

HOTEL IS IN A GREAT LOCATION, EXPECIALLY IF YOU PLAN TO TRAVEL AROUND A BIT, AS IT IT RIGHT BESIDE THE TRAIN STATION. bREAKFAST WAS FINE, AND AVAILABLE TILL 10, WHICH IS GREAT. IF POSSIBLE I WOULD TRY AND GET A ROOM AT BACK OF HOTEL, FRONT ROOMS ARE VERY NOISY.STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL, BUT GO FOR BACK ROOM. ROOM 402 WAS GREAT, IF I WAS GUARNTEED THAT AGAIN ID GO BACK DEFNIETLY.

Very good location (in front of the railway station), excellent if you arrive by train or with the bus of the airport.
