I am both a weekend getaway and a low key business traveller, sometimes with my child and husband, sometimes solo...
In all cases, arthur is a good enough choise. If you are looking for luxury, it might not be your place, but spacious rooms en-suite, good beds and warm buffet breakfast is a package not to be disgarded - the net prices being usually from 75-90€ only. Also suites and group lodging available.

Arthur is in the very center of helsinki, almost next to railwaystation. It is not lux, but nice. Rooms are spacious, all ensuite, beds are good, breakfast is ok (buffet). When all economy rooms in the city seem occupied, there´s usually some rooms left here...

We (my wife and i) spend a weekend in helsinki and stayed at the hotel arthur. It is very happily situated, 5 minutes from the railway station and 2 minutes from the senates square, shopping street and other sightseeing attractions. It was a lucky choice. The stuff was friendly and helpful, the room was nice and quite. We enjoyed the hotel breakfasts, and besides that, we met my wife's old acquaintances staying at the same hotel during the weekend. When we go to helsinki again we will definitely stay at the hotel arthur!

-absolutely best location and quiet in the morning, which is luxury nowdays!
-if price is important, it will be a good choice,as you get 3 stars with the price of a motel, including pretty good breakfast. After the renovations it smells better than 5 years ago and looks nice as well. Only problem seems to be the parking next to the hotel. I personally hate parkinghouses, as they have strange rules, so that was negative... As in all of helsinki.
