I liked it because it was quite central for me. The underground as well as bus servives were close by. The staff were very polite and my room was nice and clean. The towels though, were a bit hard and smelt of residue smoke so maybe something can be done to make them smell fresher. I only had breakfast there and I loved it.I will definitely come back to the Tavistock.

Tavistock Hotel has a fine location, on Tavistock Square, near Russell Square underground station. Good value for money, comfortable rooms - expecially considering the price. I've stayed there twice and will return. If you're lucky, you get a room facing the park, with a Gandhi statue.

The hotel is very close to the underground tube staion. It is very easy to get anywhere you want, relatively fast. It is also within walking distance of some art galleries and museums. I felt that it was in a safe neighborhood. The rooms were very small, but then I think most of the affordable hotels in the center of London are tiny. We asked for a quiet room, and were given one away from the street that was perfect. We weren't interested in a view, so that was fine. The room was relatively clean, but I am not germophobic either. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. I think they could have served some yogurt with their cereal and some fresh fruit. But you could still fill up on what they had and last till lunch. The staff was friendly and the concierge desk was very helpful. There is free internet in the lobby if you bring your own laptop, and if not, there is an internet cafe just a few doors down that is very cheap. There is also a mini mart with all kinds of food a few doors down. We had a great stay, and I would definitely stay there again!
