President Hotel Split, Split

Service was good bath was fantastic bed was extremely comfortable location was good very close walking distance to restaurants and shops

We had a very nice experience at Hotel President. Our room was very clean. The furnishings were new but in a classic, traditional style. Location was ideal. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the walls of the old city. We only ate breakfast at the hotel restuarant but it was very good with a nice selection.

Clean. Atmosphere and decor average. Buffet breakfast good.

The superior room was worth the small extra expense - even a balcony! Good location, less than 5 minutes from the old town walls, and close to the acheological museum and art gallery. Good breakfast buffet. But what really made our day were the friendliness of the staff - all greeted us with a smile and ready to offer advice.

I had paid for the upgraded room and when I arrived they had crossed out the original room that they had given me and gave it to someone else and ended up giving me the category of room that was a lot cheaper. When I questioned them, they said that there was no other room left. I went up to the room to find the door wide open and as if someone had recently been in there smoking. I asked to switch to a non-smoking room and they said all of their rooms were non-smoking and that they did not even have ash trays in the room. I said - funny as there is one in here. She ended the conversation with - what do you want me to do, I am not a police officer and I can come spray perfume if you want. Really quite rude and I also paid around 60 euro more for a room that I did not get. I believe the room I was supposed to have would have been great and my experience would have been much different. I am not sure I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.

Clean rooms though rather small, excellent lighting, excellent mattress. Some traffic noise, so ask for a room on the side away from the street. Good but not great breakfast buffet selection. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location: short walk to city center.

What a nice hotel. The only drawback was that the furniture was a little too large for the room & you would keep bumping your knees on the bedposts. Food was very good for breakfast & the bed was wonderful. Service was impeccable.

We arrived at the hotel at 2:00 AM because our bus was late arriving in Split. It was the night before our plane left so we planned to go to the hotel and get a quick 5-6 hours of sleep and head right off to the airport. When we arrived at the hotel, we discovered that the hotel had given our room to someone else because of our late arrival! The night manager was very courteous and respectful but we had to wait in the lobby for a full 30 minutes before she was able to place us in another room meant for the hotel's long term guest. The room had other people's belongings in it. We were very disappointed with our stay! The people who run this hotel are clearly very greedy and should not be trusted to keep your room.
