| Hotel Slavija is situated in the very centre of Split, inside Diocletian's Palace, which is 1700 years old and is protected by the UNESCO as a zero-category monument. It is included in the register of the world's cultural heritage. The hotel was first opened in 1900, which makes it the oldest hotel in Split. The building itself is from the 17th ct. The hotel is situated in the middle of the Palace, in the part which used to belong to the emperor's personal chambers. Even today the most preserved Roman spa in the entire Mediterranean can be seen in the basement of the hotel |

| Very helpful staff, fabulous location right in old town - but quite hard to find so need to ask at bars. Clean, quiet and comfortable triple room - note all family rooms on top floor and no lift! Basic breakfast. Good value overall. |

| Fantastic location, 7 min walk to the main bus station and the ferries, in the heart of town, shopping, nightlife. Very clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. If you have a balcony they bring the breakfast to your room. Be aware that there is not elevator, so you need to carry your luggage upstairs which was no problem for us since we don't take alot of luggage when travelling. |

| A very pleasent hotel which was in a suberb location, although a little difficult to find, room was really lovely and clean with all the staff very friendly and helpfull, the only slight downside was the standard of the breakfast, which we felt could have been slightly improved. All in all a very nice hotel and we would certainly go back there again.:) |

| Hotel Slavija was the only hotel I found in the city center. It's perfect if you use public transportation. The rooms were newly refreshed and the decoration is tasteful (the recent price increase is justified, but it's no longer a hotel for backpackers). The service was very good, breakfast correct. The only problem was the noise. There's a bar just downstairs with loud music, but with closed windows, I could sleep well. |
