Given the hotel's 5-star rating, I was a bit shocked when we walked into our room. Dingy carpet, twin beds, cheap linens -- a tired-looking room. Didn't sleep well that night (mattress was soft and saggy). We decided to check out and stay elsewhere the next morning. When I announced my plans to the front desk we were immediately upgraded to a higher floor. The contrast was dramatic: wood floors, a king-size bed, higher-quality towels and a capacious bathroom. I guess it pays to complain. Location is great, nice breakfast buffet, great restaurants and a lovely beach within walking distance. The staff was friendly and attentive. My advice? Forgo the cheaper "Superior" room and spend the extra $20 to book a "Deluxe" room: it is well worth the additional cost.

Good and quiet but but for a 5* Luxe with deluxe room,we had no bath (only shower). Very pleasant breakfast. Swimming pool not well located (for the sun) and excellent gym center with friendly staff). Nice location but a bit far from city center

Rooms are spacious enough and clean. Best breakfast in Salvador, with a stunning 180 degree view. The service is slow, as anything else in Salvador.

This hotel is a landmark in the Salvador coast. Very well placed, closed both to city centre Salvador (by taxi 20 mins) and to the coast with beaches and good night clubs. Rooms very wide and clean (only bathroom not at the top level). Great breakfast with a very wide selection. Good value for money.
