Everest Rio Hotel, Rio de Janeiro

Very nice hotel and a great location. Great views of the city from the pool area

WONDERFUL

although it is not a luxiorious hotel it is very clean, good and next to the beach

This hotel is well situated, only a block away from Ipanema beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful and there was a good quality nreakfast included. The only negative comment I have is that it was difficult to call the front desk from your room. And good luck to any outsiders who try and call you...but otherwise overall decent hotel for the price and I would stay there again.

A slightly older hotel but one of very few in this middle price range. The bathrooms are solid but have never been updated. Its best to get a room on the upper floors, as anything below floor 14 will not have a view on any description. Only a few rooms have a sea view and none have a balcony. However that doesn't matter too much as the roof top restaurant is modern and affords excellent views. The buffet breakfast is extensive and very nice. However the cooking of other meals is only adequate. There is also an outside pool and sunbeds with free towels, so you don't even have to go down to the beach. If you do prefer the sand though, there is a free towel and sunbed service, just ask. The hotel porters can be very helpful and get you good prices on mini-cabs. However sometimes their recommendations are off the mark, so rely on your own information too. Generally a well recommended hotel.

very welcomed and easy to find hotel around the corner from Impanema beach. Had a deluxe room but disappointed there wasn't a good view of the beach. Facilites and restaurants in the hotel are good and location wise excellent as a safe area.

The Everest Rio is in a very nice, calm area of Ipanema with good restaurants and nice beach. The area felt very safe and secure. The hotel is an older building but clean--nothing fancy but okay for the money. We were a group of seven with four rooms--the air conditioning in my room was kind of shaky but everyone else was satisfied. The breakfast was okay--adequate enough that we did not have to eat again until dinner. The staff was friendly and helfpul. I ate once at the Japanese Restaurant--very good. Overall a good selection for the price given what is available in Rio.
