| Excellent location two blocks from Ipanema Beach. Convenient access to public transportation, especially the bus to and from the airport. One does not need to take an expensive taxi as the bus stops along the beach road and the driver will let passengers off anywhere along the route. The cost is about US$4 each way. We had a superior room on the 11th floor so there was no noise from the street. The rooms are not large, but there is plenty of storage space. Very good shower! A copious breakfast buffet is included with the room.The television has many channels but few are in English. Everything was spottlessly clean! For the traveller who desires quality at a bargain price the Mar Ipanema Hotel is a wise choice. |

| great location, 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to very nice restaurants (including the hotel's restaurant which was really excellent). The staff were also most helpful and polite. Overall, a really great hotel |
