from the perspective of somebody used to perfectionism travelling in a country with lesser standards: - fairly central but mediocre part of Copacabana - excellent reception desk - spacious and well equipped room, uninspiring view to the rear - amenities satisfactory except shower which creates minor flood in bathroom whatever you do - breakfast buffet satisfactory - need to improve their internet access procedure, I believe they are going to do something about it

Mar Palace Hotel-Copacabana beach. This hotel is one block back from Copacabana beach in a central location. The hotel itself is very modern. It was recently renovated in 2003 so it has all the modern amenities. Marble and granite everywhere. The staff was very friendly and courteous. They let us check in almost 4 hours before check-in time and let us check out when it was convenient for us. Our room was very clean and everything worked. The bathroom was comfortable, with nice shower facilities. I dont have a single complaint about the hotel and would definitely consider it again.
