The position of the hotel is perfect! Breakfast is plentiful and you certainly will not go hungry. We were given a double room on the 17th floor. The pool is a flight of stairs from the 17th floor to the 18th floor. The pool was closed early every day(almost) so that private parties could take place in the pool area.Noise from the parties was loud and it was impossible to sleep before 2 a.m. Luckily we were out and about till the around that time anyway. In the hotel's defence they did offer us another room. Rooms are clean but tired and old.

We booked the hotel as a quick break in Rio and it was perfect! The staff were very friendly with excellent service at all times. The front desk were excellent, housekeeping were excellent and the breakfast was great outside on the pattio. We would definitely return to this hotel. It is also the best kept secret in Rio with a beautiful roof top pool excellent service once again. It manages to be quiet and friendly at the same time as feeling safe and luxurious. I have stayed in hotels across the world five star and found this hotel to be gem of a hotel. Well done to all. Duane Rocco Ashurst.

This is an average hotel in a good location. The hotel is located down the street from the beach and close to the subway and restaurants. There is always a security guard at the front door which is good. We walked around at night and felt safe as there were always people on the street. The hotel needs to be renovated. While the rooms are large, the bathrooms are small, old and not well kept. We had issues with the shower leaking on to the floor and this was not a shower curtain issue. The breakfast food had the same selection everyday. The fresh fruit at breakfast was good. The front desk and bell boys were helpful. Overall, the hotel was average -- for the price I expected a hotel in better condition.

Good clean and comfortable hotel with friendly & helpful staff. Location is within a couple of minutes walk from Ipanema beach, bars, restaurants, shops, etc. Only drawback, personally speaking, was the hotel is in the heart of the gay area (if you are not that way inclined) and the scenes at the nearest stretch of beach and certain bars was too much "in your face". Be very aware of the security situation as our camera was stolen right from under our noses while we were sunbathing on Ipanema beach in full view of other sun seekers and beach sellers. Overall: a very good choice of hotel providing a central base for sightseeing / exploring Rio and the nearby Copacabana and Leblon.
