Excellent location, shame about the refurbishment programme which caused the pool to be closed for the period. Great choice although the hotel tends to cater to more 'mature' crowds.

Really nice hotel, with laaaaaaarge facilities (swimming pool, launge, gardens, corridors,...) Very few stairs. Staff very professional and really kind. The rooms are big, old style, high ceiling, very confortable bed. The bathroom is old although everything works well. They are about to renew all the rooms in 2008. Very good breakfast in the terrace seeing the waterfalls. Very good dinner buffet (aprox 48 USD + drinks). Internet is free. This hotel is expensive compared with others in the town of Foz do Iguaçu, but you pay for the superb location, location is just great, in the middle of the National Park, 40 meters from the start of the path to the waterfalls. Our staying was really good. There is a 2.5 USD room tax per night, not included in yeego price.

This is by far the best location to see the falls, the hotels in town are much too far away, and the hotels near the entrance of the park are kind of shabby, there is one place that is a golf resort and spa that looked very nice, started with a B, forget the name. This hotel is resting on its laurels a bit and the rooms are not up to standard for a five star hotel, more like 3.5. The power was on and off while we are there, and while the generator keeps the lights on, it does not keep the AC on, which was not acceptable. tons of bugs in the room too. We had booked a 'deluxe' room, and expected more. the walk straight to the falls is easy, and prob still worth the cost of the hotel though. i guess i would reccomened the hotel but just for the location, dont expect any luxury here.

People will always come back to this hotel because of its fantastic position next to the falls. Other positive is great pool and gardens. However rooms in need to major refit. First room we had the window was broken and did not shut. Not good with wasps nest close by! Second room not much better. Restaurant very average, nothing brazilian about it. Does not take advantage of views. Check in poor, check out poor (accused of using mini bar when we did not - very bad for hotel of this standard). Lots of tour groups dominating pool/bar. Refurb and improve service/restaurant and this hotel will rank 10 everytime.

Old fashioned hotel with a perfect location close to the falls. The hotel was recently sold to the Orient Express group which plan to start a renovation from April 2008 onwards - this renovation is urgently needed! The hotel and the rooms were clean and spacy.

The location is great - inside the park. But with no broadband Internet in rooms this hotel remains in the 60's, when it was opened.

It's a great old-fahioned hotel in colonial style, but there are some inconveniences: the temperature of the shower varies constantly and the quality of the breakfast buffet is rather poor compared with similar hotels.

The hotel is unique with respect to its location adjacent to the Iguacu Falls. Although the room rates are not cheap, the special atmosphere and stile of the hotel is really unique and worth its price

Excellent to arrive at this pink (!) colonial hotel in the national park on the brazilian side with views of the falls. Definately get a superior room with a view as its extra special; don't forget to climb to the top of the look-out tower for a sunset view. As the hotel is old some things are a little clunky but food was good (bring insect repellent you are in a rainforest!)

The location of the hotel is without doubt the best for seeing Igauzu Falls, being able to see them as you eat breakfast and stroll down to see them closer. The food in the restaurant was good but it was slightly disappointing that the outdoor 'grill' was only offering light snacks with it being low season leaving the restaurant the only option without trekking into the town.
