Conrad Hotel Brussels

Luxury hotel. Big nice rooms. You can relax during the night very good, as pillows are very soft and light. Restaurant's food and staff are perfect. Surprisingly, you should pay additionally for the Internet and swimming pool. Staff of the hotel are not always helful(

My overall stay was ok; the check in was very efficient and the receptionist who checked me in, was very nice and helpful I believe her name was Chiara. The room was quite far from the lifts, however once there it was clean and had all the amenities, including a box of welcome chocolates and a note from the GM. Breakfast was nice especially the cold section and the morning bakeries. The hot section could do with some improvements especially buy not putting the hash brown potatoes in a chafing dish, which makes them soggy! Pls use a heat lamp; and the bacon, please make the streaky bacon crispy or use back bacon. I suggest a vegetable each morning like mushrooms or grilled tomatoes to be served as an accompaniment. I suggest having a small menu placed on each table with a choice of eggs or train your staff to ask the guest if they would like any alternative egg dish made as you don’t have a live egg station in the restaurant. Please change the service utensils from plastic to stainless steel, it would look far better in a 5* restaurant. Dinner at the Wiltcher’s Restaurant was excellent, and the Sommelier was on top of his game. Well done. I am totally surprised that after midnight you can’t have a burger from the room service menu? I was totally blown away when I was told that I couldn’t have a burger because there were no chefs in the kitchen and only the room service staff to prepare food orders. In a Conrad Hotel!!!!! I would also like to point out that I did not receive any evening turn down, nor did I ever receive a newspaper; a MQS in most 5* hotels I have stayed. Last but not least, I was told that in order to use the gym I needed to pat 25euro entrance fee! Absolutely outrageous! The hotel should have an agreement with the gym to allow in-house guest to have free access, if I had known that I had to pay to access the gym I would have not booked at the Conrad.
