This was not our first choice, as several prior options were apparently all full.
The location in josefstadt was good, and if you have good legs you can pretty much walk to all of the sites bar the prater. In any case the u bahn and ring-line tram are within 5 minutes walk. There are some very good un-touristy restaurants in the area so look around.
The hotel itself is bare minimum. It's clean and the bathroom is quite new but apart from that it's just the essentials. The walls are thin and if you are close to the stairwell you can hear people coming down. The room (double) was small, but the bed was big enough. The television was a tiny crt.
Breakfast was pretty good as they get fresh bread rolls in every day.
Annoying that foyer internet terminal access must be paid for (e1.10 per 15 mins).
Service was satisfactory but not overly welcoming.
In summary a good-fair budget hotel.

We are very pleased about everything at the hotel!
the location is perfect! close to the city center, easily to go anywhere.
Very clean!
the buffet was enough to satisfied all the taste...
Personal was ok...
And the manager, too! :)
maybe at the tv channels we can have a minor problem: if the tourists are not german speakers, u can say goodbye to any understanding of the channels...
We asked for other channels in english (for example) and the answer came, with a smiley face: "u have cnn!"...

Room was clean and well warmed, but the twin beds side by side are not good for a couple. Very good breakfast. Reception was not so nice as i hoped.
