Good location, nice size and clean room with good bathroom. As room was on second floor next to road was quite noisy from outside but generally excellent value. Breakfast good.

Good location. Good breakfast. WiFi available at the room. Room seems old..., and lacking personality. Hot during July, windows need to be open for keeping the temperature low (No AC available). Noise from neighbouring rooms was well heard (thin walls)

A hotel located in the center of Salzburg, well positioned, but can not hide his age. Rooms very clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet for a city centre hotel. Breakfast room and food excellent. Excellent access from airport on No2 bus stopping directly opposite hotel. Free Tea,coffee and juices all day and evening in the lounge. Pity no bar facilities in the hotel however mini bar in room availble. Staff excellent and helpful. Highly recommend and will return.

The location of the hotel was great and the breakfast was excellent with both hot and cold choices. The rooms have all the neccessary requirments for proper travel. The beds were comfortable and the best thing about the hotel was that they offered tea, cofee, and juices 24 hours a day along with local magazines in their lobby. The best value for your money!!!

Well sited for access to old city and new. Room spacious and clean. Breakfast selection good and was restocked continuously. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Only drawback was traffic noise.

Good Hotel, nice central location. Staff very friendly, food good too. I did, however, particularly feel that the bed mattress had seen a lot better days and needed replacing. Salzburg was fantastic.

We arrived late at the hotel and were checked in very efficiently. The staff are all very helpful. The room was a good size, very clean with a nice big bathroom. Great breakfast with plenty choice. One small issue was that the walls are so thick the room got hot and stayed hot, but maybe this was because we were on the top floor. Overall good hotel in a great location within walking distance of all the sights.

the rooms were lovely and really spotless. the reception staff were very cheerful and very helpful.they also had very good english.great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. the location was very central to new and old town. everywhere was in walking distence. no bar but plenty around.they also had 24hr tea coffee service.will go back again,can't fault it in any way! maddie + joe wall dublin

The rooms are large and airy. The staff could not be faulted for their welcoming manner and the first class service. There is no restaurant but the location of the hotel is fine for its proximity to eating places. It is also within walking distance of museums, concert halls etc. Having little German the desk staff spoke excellent English.

This well appointed hotel, close to the centre on Salzburg, was ideal for our 4 day break. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was good. However, the lounge area was very small and there was no bar. Apart from that, a nice hotel.

Of course, the price (via yeego) was interesting an the hotel is nice, but I could not sleep at nigh due to the noice from the street (cars and bus) and finally I did not enjoy my meeting. I suggest people to ask for another room in this case...

We would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Salzburg. The location is perfect - 4 minutes walk from the old town - which is great for both sightseeing during the day and eating out at night. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were spacious and the staff all extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and the supply of free coffee/juice in the lobby area all day very welcome. The Austrotel is also very well placed for public transport, being on the main bus route from/to the airport and a one minute walk from the Snow Shuttle bus which took us into Kitzbuhel for a day. I don't think anybody staying at this hotel would be disappointed. We will certainly be recommending it to friends and would not hesitate to use it ourselves if we return to Salzburg.

This hotel is in a good position. Very helpful staff and large, clean rooms. Only problem is no air conditioning and even in the winter you need to open the windows because the rooms are so hot but then you get the noise from the road. Tea, coffee and a variety of juices on tap all day in the lounge. No bar but that didn't bother use as there were reasonably priced ones around the corner. Would definitely recommend but ask for a 'back' room.

The rooms were quite and nice, the hotel is a bit old and the bathroom is poor. The location is perfect to go walking to the centre of Salzburg, just few minutes. Breakfast is correct.

Great hotel. Had a fab time there. Breakfast superb. Rooms very comfortable and clean also lovely bathroom. However room was very hot and the road outside noisy - next time will ask for a room at the back. No bar, just help yourself to hot & cold drinks in lounge which was adequate and no restaurant. However there are plenty of places to eat in Salzburg and you can walk everywhere and to everything. No need for transport tickets. Easy to reach from airport we got a cab which cost about 13/14 euros. There is a bus a no 2 which drops you outside the hotel but being a Sunday we didn't wait to find it! Good value for money with 3rd night free. Lovely helpful staff especially on reception desk.

Austrotel Hotel was brilliant - rooms were of a high standard linen towels and cleanliness perfect breakfast great with plenty of choice and beautiful fresh foods. Staff very helpful and friendly. Situation was superb - easy to walk to bars resturants and the old town. A very nice touch was the free coffee and juices in the lounge together with free newspapers. Altogether a good choice and thanks to Yeego for providing 3 nights for the price of 2 !!

Good location friendly helpful staff, adequate breakfast some rooms o.k other rooms very small and old looking wouldn't go back but o.k for overnight stay as we were en route to a skiing holiday.

Our room was smallish but ok; we didn't realise that twin bed meant just that, 2 beds either end of the room. Good location, easy and pleasant walk to old town. Breakfasts were traditional and of good quality. Hotel clean and tidy. No bar facility for evening drink. However, would use hotel again.

We arrived late, at about 10:30pm, and were allocated room 320. This was a twin room, with 2 small (2 foot 6 inch wide) beds. The room was long and not very wide and the beds were offset from one another. Also the room stank of cigarettes (request was for a non smoking twin bedded room). It was awful. Tried to change rooms but we were informed that the hotel was fully booked, but we could change in the morning. Getting into one of the twin beds, the bed broke, it was a slatted bed. (This was what broke the camels back.) I angrily complained, it was just before midnight, and 5 minutes later we were transferred to another room. This room, which was a twin room!, was much bigger and better and did not smell of cigarette smoke. In the morning I went to make a complaint as to why when push came to shove we were allocated another room. Their response was that this was a double room (beds together not apart) and it had been already allocated to a 'non arrival' and at 11pm they could reallocate it. Apart from the problem of arrival the hotel was centrally located, the staff were helpful and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. As the hotel is a 4* hotel I had certain expectations. Room 320 did not come anywhere near these expectations. It does annoy me that the hotel tried it on, due to this I would not stay there again

The rooms are a great size a fab bed with the most comfortable pillows. Service and food very good and reception staff very helpful. Only down side is it is a 25-30 min walk from the town and with a small child it's a bit of a nightmare.

My wife and I stayed for a 3 night short break in November 06. The hotel staff spoke english and were very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was very clean and was a good size, also very quiet at night. The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels left. Free tea, coffee and juice drinks were served in the lounge. The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is in easy walking distance to all the city centre attractions. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be staying here again next time we visit.

Location and breakfast were good. However:- Initial room given was unbearably hot and stuffy, no ac/temperature control. After one night and complaining we were moved to a new room where the temperature was more bearable but still very hot. Small in-room fans were not adequate to control the temperature. 2. Room mini-bars not working (in the 2 rooms we were in.) Aparently they don't work in any of the rooms! 3. Hotel bar was never open. 4. Restaurant/club also not open. 5. Only 1 internet station, therefore queues. In general we choose our hotel based on a combination of price and advertised amenities. These were minimal or non-existent for what we expected to be a good 4 star hotel.

The Austrotel Salzburg was a nice hotel, with an excellent location. A few minutes walk to the Mozart house, and old Salzburg. Rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was typical european with sliced cold meat, cheeses, preserves with some hot buffet items such as scrambled eggs + sausage. Locally baked cookies and cake were an additional item and was a nice touch. The hotel did not serve dinner, however there were lots of options nearby (reservations are required, and the hotel concierge were very accomodating with this).

The Austrotel was ideally situated to walk everywhere in Salzburg,the Old town only being 5-10 minutes walk away. The bus station was around the corner and the railway station just 10 minutes walk away. We caught the city bus from the airport to outside the hotel which took about 20 minutes.Thehotel room was comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast excellent and the free coffee/tea facility was welcome during the day. The receptionist were extremely helpful and made our stay hassle free!. We would recommend this hotel for a city break.

We very much enjoyed our short stay in Salzburg and the Austrotel was part of the reason. It is well located, within short walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see - also easy to access the airport and bus terminal. The breakfasts were wonderful! For us they lasted most of the day. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to come back sometime.

The Austrotel was a very good place to stay. Rooms small but comfortable with good hot shower. Staff very accommodating. Breakfast included great variety and adequate amounts. Being located across the road from the Mirrabell Palace, the hotel is ideally situated for the main sights in Salzburg.

The hotel was superb, room was a great size even with the cot in, the location was excellent - in easy walking distance from most places. The restaurant was lovely, friendly staff made it an easy experience. the food was lovely and a huge choice was given. The homemade cookies were a firm favourite with our one year old! The only downfall was that they only had one highchair - which resulted in us having to precariously balance our Little one on an adult chair. Needless to say breakfast was cut short on that occasion.

Service very good, which is the reason it scores as high as a 5 (although bar would not serve alcohol during day). Rooms okay but nothing special. 10 minute easy walk to old town. No extra facilities (pool/gym etc). Breakfast well below expectations.
