Centralhotel Gablerbrau, Salzburg

Excellent, spacious room (one light not working)v good breakfast,plenty of everything " more coffee?" (unusual) Had a drink in the bar but full of v noisy young Italians so we went somewhere quieter!

This hotel, while not luxurious, was a great value, and the location cannot get much better...just minutes on foot from the Old Town! The room was large, and the bathroom was huge and seemed to be recently refurbished. The hotel staff was helpful without being intrusive. I would definitely stay here again, although I would ask for a room which is not over the side street due to late night noise from passers-by. Also, keep in mind that Austria has not yet gone non-smoking indoors, so be prepared for the smell of smoke in the halls and near the breakfast room.

We stayed at the Baglerbrau in Salzburg. The hotel was great, absolutely fantastic location. The food in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast was good too. The only thing that lets the hotel down is the corridors and doors to the rooms. It's a bit like Prisoner Cell Block H! But don't let that put you off, the rooms themselves are fine with big bathrooms. Also, we were in Room 337 and there was a lot of noise during the night from a bar behind the hotel. They chose to move the huge bins full of bottles several times in the middle of the night. We complained to the hotel but were told we couldn't be moved because they were full. When we were leaving they gave us chocolates as compensation - which were out of date!!

Very friendly staff, food was of an excellent standard. If i had to find a fault it would be the view from our hotel room .....was dissapointing (brick wall) but having said that we were out and about most of the time anyway. The hotel was also in a very good location (very central)

A well located hotel some recently refurbished rooms,helpful friendly staff, good breakfast and a good restaurant for an evening meal. In all we very much enjoyed our stay and may return next year!Avoid room 336 opposite the laundry!!

This was a great hotel...perfect location. We could walk to everything and it was a short taxi or bus ride from the airport. Breakfasts were nice. food at the hotel was good!

The room was very spacious.The bathroom was very clean. The hotel staff were very helpful and curtious and the restaurant meals were really good and reasonably priced.

Hotel Gablebrau was in an excellent location for exploring the city of Salzburg. A short walk to the old town. Plenty of Restaurants / Cafe's near the Hotel itself. Rooms were large and comfortable and clean modern Bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection. Hotel Staff friendly and helpful. If in Salzburg would definately return to this Hotel.

The Gablerbrau is ideally placed for getting around Salzburg- everything is within walking distance and it is very reasonably priced. The restaurant, a favourite of the locals, has a lovely local menu and the food and service is excellent. Breakfast was very good indeed with an array of choices. The rooms are comfortable and simply furnished- spotlessly clean. Great bathroom.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time. Would definitely go back.

The hotel restaurant was open to the public and was very good. authentic atmosphere, good service and very clean. The menu had good choice and the attached bar was good too. However the toilet was faulty - did not flush - we alerted staff right away and they did fix it but it stopped working again the next day. The room was quite basic and the hotel could do with refurbishing. Breakfast wasnt good - no fresh orange and cold boiled eggs. we wouldnt recommend the hotel to our friends but convenient location.

Competent and welcoming (if slightly taciturn) reception staff. Pleasant room. Upmarket restaurant full of locals(slightly intimidating) plus 'normal' stubl/bar (much more welcoming) on ground floor. Hotel very handy for both 'old' and 'new' towns due to proximity to main bridge. Good value for what I paid. Very nice breakfast room and decent breakfast. General tranquility only ruined by arrival of a horde of loud-mouthed American female schoolkids, who seemed to spend most of their time in the hotel lobby.

The Gablerbrau Hotel was a nice hotel in a great location of Salzburg. It was located right near the old town off the right bank. If you are like me, you like to be close to things but do not want to have to deal with hoardes of tourists and noise pollution and the Gablerbrau Hotel is just that. The hotel itself is very cute, clean and good sized rooms for a European hotel. The free break fast in the morning is in a lovely room with a nice spread of cheeses, meats and breads, along with juices and your choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate that is delivered to your table. I would definitely reccomend this hotel and would stay again next time I am in Salzburg :)
