Location is good especially for a train traveller. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, cozy room. Missing only a water kettle (supposed to be there but wasn't).

We stayed here 3 nights. The weather was absolutely scorching and the air-conditioning in the room was really appreciated. The beds were a litle on the hard side but bearable. The rooms were obviously sound-proofed but being next to the railway tracks, it was inevitable that you would hear some noise from passing trains. Bathroom was fine, with good water pressure and plentiful toiletries. The hotel's best asset was its restaurant. It had a lovely al-fresco dining area where we took breakfast every morning. Breakfast was OK - not a great choice but adequate. The resaturant also serves excellent Austrian cuisine at very reasonable prices. We had dinner there on 2 nights and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Location-wise, this hotel is within 15 min walk to the old city district, 5 min to the mainline train station, and on the main road with plenty of buses. It is also 5 min from Mirabell Square where the Panaroma bus tours begin & end. I would definitely recommend this hotel - great value for money.

Typical Austrian hospitality. Wide variety at breakfast buffet. Excellent food in the restaurant which is also known by the locals of Salzburg and a separate bar, where smoking is allowded.
