| Las Mercedes Ranch, located on the outskirts of Eldorado, 98 kms from the Iguazu falls and 200 km from Posadas, raises cattle and horses and is surrounded by Yerba Mate plantations, pines and araucarias among other species. Las Mercedes opens its gates to the visitor to enjoy a country stay, lodging at the main house of the establishment, a tipical english colonial structure, with all the necessary comforts to make our visitors feel at home. In the main house, there's room for 12 people in 5 bedrooms with private bathrooms, all furnished in tipical colonial style of the 1900's. At lunch typical meals are served; meat and lamb barbacues, different kinds of fish, Paraguayan soup, manioc, and fresh salads. At tea time: pastries, homemade cakes, pies and scones. At dinner: Home-made dishes and desserts. Activities at the estancia include horse back rides through the jungle and pastures, swimming, bird watching and walks through the forests. One of the boundries of the ranch is the Piray Guazu river, ideal for canoeing, rafting and floating in rubber dinguies. |
